When you’re half way around the world, have just stepped off a 24 hour flight and a broken luggage carousel holds your suitcases hostage upon arrival… There’s no better feeling than finally arriving at your accommodation and knowing that your home for the next little while happens to be one of the most beautiful hotels in the world.
If you’re experiencing a little de ja vu, that may be because The Peninsula Paris has had a special place in my heart (and my Insta feed) for a long time. I’ve been lucky enough to call this magnificent place my home on previous occasions and I think you’ll agree that when a hotel is this aesthetically pleasing, a girl can’t help but share the love, the view and the ultimate robe life for all to see.
Home to one of the best breakfasts in Paris (the ultimate instagram worthy experience), the most comfortable bed I have ever laid upon (troublesome for those early morning meetings) and within walking distance of the Champs-Élysées (hide your credit cards ladies), this favourite haunt seems to have a surprise hiding around every corner, and The Garden Suite is no exception. Just when you thought you were already living your ultimate Parisian dream, just add a private rooftop garden with a view of the Eiffel Tower and French architecture as far as the eye can see, an interior of exquisite proportions and a suite so spacious that you’ll be tempted to bring an extra suitcase to fill with all of your guilty purchases. The list doesn’t stop there btw…
On my third night’s stay after a busy day of meetings and show’s I headed to LiLi, the Peninsula’s award wining Cantonese restaurant to indulge in a culinary experience that would have even PFW’s waistline-watching fashionista’s a little green with envy. A gastronomic highlight to co-inside nicely between Valentino (Day 6) and Chanel (Day 7), say no more.
Finally the best way to end your fashion week indulgences is to treat yoself as we say, to a little spa therapy and thanks to The Peninsula Spa, this lady was finally able to enjoy a hit of good ole fashion TLC. By the way, you know that you’ve had a great facial when you return from one of busiest weeks of the year and your best friend ask’s you politely how you enjoyed your holiday! Check mate and thank you very much to my incredible beauty therapist I’ll be back next season and I’ll try to save you a spot ladies.
So, now while back on home soil it feels a little bit like a dream. Let’s hope that next season I can offer you my next round of Peninsula Paris adventures. I can just imagine it now … arriving at the hotel and unpacking my suitcases only to find my bestie squeezed into my luggage as a stow away. I guess that it’s not entirely her fault that the Peninsula’s ridiculously good list of offerings are world famous … maybe next season I’ll book two rooms just in case.
