If you’re a regular to our Sunday Sanctuary interior tours, you’ll know I am partial to a clean, white slate, especially in regards to interiors. However, where the rule was once strictly neutral and natural, I’ve recently found myself reconsidering my original interiors bias, and the ‘MA House’ is one of the reasons why.
Designed by Studio Guilherme Torres, the ‘MA House’ is located in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Now there’s no saying neutral and natural finishings and furnishings are to be forgotten, (because they are undeniably why the interiors in this space work so well), however it is no longer the be all end all for timeless designs and decor. This space makes a strong case for the addition of unavoidable yet subtle colour. Each room gives a strong nod to muted tones, with a mustard yellow couch and decor in the living area, feature red art in the hallway, and subtle blue hues in the bedroom.
Blame it on the on-trend bright & pastel colours featured on the latest runways (see here & here), but something tells me the addition of colour won’t only be appearing in my wardrobe…
