The timing couldn’t have been better when I think about it. Under immense pressure to change up the fashion stakes in the bedroom (let me please clarify that I’m speaking purely aesthetically in this department), I had exhausted all efforts in preparation for a girly weekend in the country.
A rendezvous well rounded with the sipping of long island iced tea, afternoons in the sunshine reading from favourite books and some good ol’ fashioned gossiping with my favourite partner in crime, would not have been the same spread out on nanny’s dusty duvet’s.
When your uber cool girlfriend flies in from NYC for a weekend in the countryside, ‘fashion’ you would think would be far from her mind. Alas if you know me well, you’ll know that it’s never too far from the front of mine. Always looking for an excuse to include more bright whites and stripes into my repertoire, my interior wishes were answered by Tommy Hilfiger himself and his Home Spring 2017 collection. Pillows woven with crochet so good that they could be your next best accessory, towels so soft that you could wear them … literally, and cotton so good that you’ll never want to get out of bed.
For a Tommy fan like me, it’s seems like a natural progression to take the classic Hilfiger aesthetic from a sartorial obsession and step it up by bringing it into the sanctuary.
To be honest, I think that our interior spaces have been calling for a little Tommy attitude all along. Suddenly getting sent to bed early ain’t such a bad thing.. x
