Art and fashion perfectly collide in this space which is designed and curated by George Gorrow, the original co-founder of Ksubi. Aptly named ‘The Slow‘, this boutique hotel experience will make you feel right at home on the island paradise of Canggu, Bali, a favourite destination of mine.
With an aesthetic eloquently described as ‘tropical brutalism’, the interiors space features neutral styling, with native wood, perforate partitions, vertical screens, floor-to-ceiling windows and inverted gardens. Locally sourced, the artisan-produced furniture and custom pieces work to blend the natural textures seamlessly with the industrial elements of the building.
But for me, it’s all about those screens, allowing sneaky glimpses of the ocean just a few steps away, local villages, and distant Bali volcanoes. You know, just your regular hotel experience…
Gravitating around Gorrow’s unique and personal art collection, the space is designed to create an experience that allows you to ‘rest your bones, stir your senses, and expand your mind’. Aaaah, say no more, you had me at hello… x
