It’s only once in a blue moon (thanks to the month that we’ve just had) that you’re asked to contribute your creative energy to one of Australia’s most distinguished brands. You might have noticed that over the past 12 months that I’ve been involved with several projects with Australia’s leading department store Myer. Since the early days I’ve been a loyal Myer customer, with a strong affiliation with the brand and all that it stands for. Right from the start, and some interesting leg warmer moments (thankfully before social media existed) to the more current Australian Designer obsessions, it’s been a loyal ride all of the way. So when the Myer team contacted me earlier this year to work together creatively I was honoured.
With much excitement, today marks the day that I can announce my national role with Myer as one of the brand’s key trend influencers and art directors, or officially as one of the Myer Spring Summer 15/16 ‘Finders’. With a portfolio of exciting campaigns that I’ve photographed and styled rolling out over the next 2 months, I’m lucky enough to be in front of the camera for the first project, reporting on one of my favourite trends “Monochrome”. By now you know me well enough… and black and whites are a staple in this girls wardrobe, so for me the monochrome trend is all about creating interest with silhouettes and textures. Above is just some of my favourite monochrome looks of the season, but if you visit my page at Myer you’ll find some of my personal selects that I’m loving right now. It’s enough to make this rock lobster increase her credit limit and invest in some ‘boulder’ pieces for Spring, if you’ll pardon the pun. So I hope that you enjoy my reporting and I can’t wait to share what’s around the corner, I promise that we won’t leave a stone unturned ..
