Mick Jagger ain’t the only one to believe that more is more. In celebration of our current enthusiasm for opulence and an updated millennial kind of decadence, the cool kids on the street are dropping their all black ensembles for something a little more light hearted, enter a reignited era of embellishments and sophisticated extravagance .. leaving minimalism at the door for something a little more.
It doesn’t feel like that long ago that I had the pleasure of attending my first Maison Valentino PFW show. Timelessly etherial goddesses swanned down the runway, unfazed by impermanent trends, dressed elegantly in the kind of bespoke restrained splendour that had you gasping for more. More immaculately tailored coats, more delicately layered dresses, more hand embroidered sweaters, and yes more iconically famous Rockstud superbness.
Well thankfully with Pierpaolo Piccioli newly appointed as Maison Valentino’s sole Creative Director, more is what we’ve asked for and more is what we’ll get. Being his first bag under the new creative direction, the Rockstud Spike Bag is as transformable as it’s owner and cooler than a Rolling Stone. Cushiony studded goodness, and with adaptable strap options to suit your mood, means that this baby is more than a pretty face.. it has a ‘rock stud’ personality of it’s own.
If this is just the beginning we cannot wait to see what Pierpaolo does next. All that I know is that we want more and I’m sure that Mr Jagger would agree, when it comes to Valentino you can never overdo it..
