Blue is the colour of so many of my favourite things… The ocean, the eyes of someone particularly special, blue sky days when I’m behind the camera and the light hits everything just right.
But now we have another thing to add to the list of blues we love, and ladies and gents that’s the ‘Bottega Blues’. I’m sure you’re familiar with the now-iconic square toe shape that is taking over our dreams thanks to Bottega Veneta. The Bottega effect as it has become affectionately known has taken a square step forward to becoming the silhouette of choice and our feet have been thanking us (and Creative Director Mr Daniel Lee) ever since.
For me it was love at first sight and these baby blues have been on my mind since we first saw them on the AW19 runway. The perfect pop of colour to any outfit and a subtle statement that’s not to be understated… to plainly state it.
As luck may have it, I was browsing my beloved MATCHESFASHION at just the right time to add to cart faster than you can say ‘quilted pump’, and in no time I was singing the Bottega Blues all through the house for my neighbours to hear.
In today’s fashion landscape, trends can to come and go faster than we can keep up, but every once in awhile a single item enters the scene and changes the industry along with it. We have Bottega Veneta to thank for adding something a little square to the fashion rounds, and lucky for us I think we will be feeling the Bottega effect for many seasons to come… x
