There are statement bags, and then there are statements. I guess you could say that this particular piece enthusiastically ticks both of these boxes.
Equal parts perfect design and fluffy cloud, this Maison Margiela piece of art, aptly titled the Glam Slam Bag, has been working its way into my mind since I first laid eyes upon it on the Spring Summer 2018 runway. Fast forward to current day and thanks to my family at MATCHESFASHION.COM here we are, on our first romantic date together walking along / posing strangely the beautiful streets of Piccadilly on a double date with the most perfect boots from The Row.
Never before has there been a bag so misunderstood by boyfriends, but beloved by girlfriends… Speaking of course from personal experience, sorry Sammy. But that’s the real beauty of a piece such as this, it says something about the wearer that perhaps she might be too shy to say herself.
I know it may be hard to believe but I’ve never really been one for drawing attention, rather I find it best to let my outfit and accessories do the talking, walking and shouting from the rooftops… You’ve heard of the phrase ‘these boots were made for walking’, I vote ‘this bag was made for talking’ as the new slogan of choice. xx
