As the lights dimmed signalling the beginning of the Louis Vuitton Spring 2016 show this season, situated at the brands eponymous Foundation on the outskirts of Paris, it was clear to see that this collection would pack a serious cyber punch.
Wall to wall electronic screens depicting digital landscapes in high speed visions became the backdrop for Nicolas Ghesquière’s latest instalment of future punk inspired creations for Spring Summer 2016. Signature iconic elements were combined with ultra high-tech fabrics to produce a collection that may be enough to empower the modern urban warrior within all of us.
A personal favourite from the collection being the multi-panelled motocross pant, I’m guessing perfect for a anyone who owns a moped(practical and uber cool .. no?) or more rhetorically the ideal SS staple for any of us looking to replace last season’s short du jour, the culotte. Notably, the oversized, chain embellished platform sandals also attracted our attention, sure to be next Springs must-have shoe for any cool girl worth her share of leather jackets, and possibly for this chick if she can manage to pull it off .. #tbc.
All in all, we were both excited and inspired by a collection that carried so much attitude along with contemporary chic. And, in the words of my hair stylist Jon who was fortunate enough to work backstage on the hair .. ‘cool cannot be imitated it has to be intrinsically created’ ..
