Under a series of geodesic domes set out like a space station outpost in a faraway galaxy at the Fondation Louis Vuitton, we saw this season’s Louis Vuitton Fall 2015 Collection marched out by it’s other worldy counterparts. Nicolas Ghesquière’s Louis Vuitton girl this season was strong, cool and confident as ever before but now with the added twist of technology to take her into the heart of the 21st century. Technologically designed fabrics sat along side accessories such as carbon fibre mini trunks equipped with iPad charging docks, thank you Mr Ghesquière we’ll be ordering one of those before the next fashion week come’s around! The magic of combining the luxury of quality with contemporary textiles .. chest magnifique. The good thing here too is that the DNA of the Louis Vuitton brand was never forgotten with the use of icons and silhouettes from former more archival LV collections.
One thing that certainly did get this girl’s attention was the oversized Argentinian polar bear coats, high on my radar thanks to Freja Beha’s opening look, and let’s not also forget those cut-out knit tops and black ankle boots to match. Overall there was a realness that was translatable to any modern girl .. even a slight ‘down to Earth’ factor for the futuristic femme fatale .. if you’ll pardon the pun ..
