Before working in fashion, back in my days as a full time artist, paint was my medium of choice. It was in my studio that a love of colour blossomed and experimenting with different shades, tones and combinations became part of my everyday. While working with colour was easy for me on the end of a paintbrush, it never translated through to fashion choices… Messy days in front of a canvas tend to lead to a monochrome wardrobe and over time this became a much loved uniform.

But while the pink explosion is something that I would have once just admired from the sidelines or styled for others, there’s only so long you can let everyone else have all the fun. Throughout the fashion seasons this year, I’ve become a lover of the Grand Budapest Hotel type of hues and the admiration seems to only keep growing for this recent Pantone colour of the year.

So it’s no wonder that I couldn’t go past this beautiful Marni number from MATCHESFASHION.COM for the perfect pink fix. If like me head to toe colour isn’t really your thing, a splash here and there is a-okay and easy to fit in with your current season staples.

If pretty pinks haven’t really been your thing before, maybe now’s the time to start playing around with pieces of the candy coloured variety.. I think we can all agree that Pantone knows where it’s at.. x
