Walking into the Grand Palais is always an experience in itself, let alone the location for the Chanel Spring 2018 Show. As I walked through the large entrance I was greeted by the sounds of water gently cascading down the side of a giant, moss laden cliff. At that exact moment I knew I was in for a whole other Chanel universe. One which had immensely evolved from the previous season’s outer space experience. This new universe compromised of a majestic outdoor retreat, 50-foot tall faux rock and trickling water which provided the backdrop for the ultimate natural wonder.
Not only did this majestic Chanel set depict nature; the garments, shoes and accessories did too, expecting nothing less from Mr Lagerfeld. The collection featured large tear dropped earrings, PVC brimmed hats and boots, to of course protect any potential backsplash, while the soundtrack provided a youthful ’60s/’80s vibe.
I’m not sure whether it was the endorphins from the effect of the great outdoors setting, or the clothes, but there was definitely something in the air…The Chanel air.
